Step-by-step instructions

The share feature allow you to obtain a webpage URL saved to your clipboard which you can then share with anyone over email or SMS. When clicking on the URL the map will open with all your selections reloaded and the map will zoom into the exact location you were looking at when sharing the network. This means you can easily share maps with all selections to anyone at any time.

  1. Open the National Network Map and navigate to the area and network you want to share.

Tips and common issues

Bookmarks help colleagues understand exactly what you intended to show, including all selected layers and zoom level.

When sharing a URL, let recipients know which network and vehicle type you were viewing, in case they change settings after opening the link.

If the URL does not open as expected, confirm that the recipient has access to the National Network Map and that the link was copied in full.

Where to get help

Ask your organisation’s GIS or mapping support team for advice on which views are commonly shared.

Contact the NHVR Spatial or Network Management support team if URLs do not open or bookmarks appear incorrect.
