Introduction
NHVR Go contains an asset module for managing roads, structures (bridges and culverts), and rail crossings.
Rail Infrastructure Managers (RIMs) can add and manage rail crossings within NHVR Go including spatially linking them to the National Network Map.
RIMs are setup in NHVR Go by the NHVR as Road Manager accounts with the role category 'Third Party'. Users must be members of the RIM Road Manager account and have the role Spatial User (supervisor) to be able to create rail level crossings.
Instructions
After logging into NHVR Go from https://portal.nhvr.gov.au.
Open Rail crossings under the Roads and assets menu.
Click on Add new rail crossing and enter mandatory information to add the rail crossing and then click on Create. Mandatory fields include:
RIM Rail Crossing Id - the Rail Infrastructure Manager unique identifier for the rail crossing. This in most cases should be the same as the ALCAM id (Australian Rail Crossing Assessment Model unique identifier).
Line Section Name - the name of the railway line section.
Rail Network - the name of the railway network.
The RIM Rail Crossing Id must be unique and if any existing rail crossing record exists for the Rail Infrastructure Manager in NHVR Go an error will be reported. Enter a unique identifier.
Upon successfully creating the rail crossing the rail crossing edit screen will open.
Click on the Spatial Details tab
If a location hasn't been added use the map search box (click on magnifying glass icon to open) to find the location of the rail crossing.
Drag the blue location marker icon to position directly on the rail level crossing. This is the location at which the rail level crossing icon will appear on the National Network Map.
Last click on the road segment which crosses over the railway.
The road segment will highlight in light blue. If a condition or restriction is placed on this road segment (for a particular network) the level crossing icon will display yellow if road segment is conditional or red if road segment is restricted.
You can selected multiple road segments by clicking on other road segments.
To deselect a road segment click and hold ALT key and click on the road segment.
